ADIN Abrasion Tester determines the resistance of Elastomers in regard with the frictional loss on Rubber product such as footwear, tyres, conveyor belts ,hoses ,floor covering etc. As the wear is always the result of abrasion ,hence it simulates long term wear effectively .This tester is designed and manufactured in accordance with DIN standard. It is used for uniformity tests and comparison tests of rubber abrasion. Abrasive paper is wound on the surface of a rotary drum and rubber specimen subjected to load is moved on the abrasive paper. The amount of rubber reduced in the specimen due to the abrasion is measured.

The Equipment allows user to measure the abrasion resistance of rubbers (vulcanized thermo-set rubbers and thermoplastic elastomers) that are subject to abrasive/frictional wear in their actual service, such as tires, conveyor drive belts, and shoe soles. The abrasion distance is easily selected by an adjusting screw. The constant pressure on the sample is set by using a variety of loading weights. The Ross Flex Test gives a measure of the resistance of sole material to cracking resulting from flexing in wears. The material is repeatedly flexed through 90º over a mandrel at a specified temperature after a small cut has been made right through with a chisel. The rate of growth of this cut is a measure of the tendency of the material to crack.

The ability of materials like shoe uppers leathers, gloves, furniture leather, car interior decorative leathers and garments, to withstand repeated flexing without cracking is determined with the help of a flexing resistance test. In this test, rectangular specimens are folded and clamped at each end to maintain them in a folded position in a set of grips, one of which is fixed while the other is able to oscillate. The movement of the oscillating grip causes the fold in the test specimen to run along its centre. Paramount Taber Abrasion i9™ is an Advanced model Equipment to measure the wear resistance of material through Abrasion mounting a flat specimen approximately 100mm square or round to a turntable platform that rotates on a vertical axis at a fixed speed. The standard material thickness that can be evaluated with the Rotary Abraser is 6.35 mm (materials greater than 6.35 mm but less than 40 mm can be tested with optional accessories). Two abrasive wheels, which are applied at a specific pressure, are lowered onto the specimen surface. Characteristic rub wear action is produced by contact of the test specimen against the sliding rotation of the two abrading wheels. As the turntable rotates, the wheels are driven by the sample in opposite directions about a horizontal axis displaced tangentially from the axis of the sample. One abrading wheel rubs the specimen outward toward the periphery and the other, inward toward the center while a vacuum system removes loose debris during the test. The wheels traverse a complete circle on the specimen surface, revealing abrasion resistance at all angles relative to the weave or grain of the material .
