OVERVIEW - 
The count of yarn is defined as the fineness of the Yarn. In DIRECT SYSTEM, the count is the weight of a unit length of yarn. For example, “TEX” is number of grams in one-kilometer length of yarn. “DENIER” is number of grams in 9000 meters of yarn. In indirect system, the count is the number of unit of fixed length of yarn which makes a fixed weight: For example “COTTON” is number of hanks of yarn in a Pound, “METRIC” is number of kilometers of yarn in one kilogram. Irrespective of the system of count, two basic requirements for determining count are:

a) An accurate determination of sample length, and b) An accurate determination of its Weight. The method of determination of count depends to a large extent on the form in which the yarn is available for testing. Yarn Count Tester is a simple Equipment used to determine the count of yarn directly and accurately.

Paramount Yarn Count Tester i9™ is the latest model direct yarn count balance which has been completely redesigned. This latest ergonomic equipment consists of a light weight beam pivoted on jewel bearing with a suspender hook at one end and a pointer at the other. The beam is initially leveled with the help of the leveling screw to bring the pointer against a datum point. A calibrated rider is suspended in the slot provided on the beam. A template is used to size the length of the yarn (The Length depending upon the count system required). This number of sort lengths required to balance the beam gives the count of the yarn directly. A Template is provided to give lengths of yarn in METRIC, COTTON, LINEN, WOOL SKIEN, and WORSTED counts. The Balance is finished beautifully in Blue Powder Coated Paint.

Wrap MASTER i9^TM (Motorized with 10 Station)is completely made of fine Quality of mild steel. The top unit including wrap reel is mounted over a beautiful designed base. One of the arms of the wheel can be locked to facilitate the removal of the leas from the wheel. It has a specially designed digital control panel with revolution setting option. The yarn guide device move through a distance of 20 mm once every sixteen turns to give leas of 20 mm width. Specially designed bobbins stand can accommodate five bobbins unto 100 mm diameter and 250 mm length. The bobbins stand is equipped with a yarn tensioning device to facilitate in wrapping the yarn on the wheel. The standard wrap reel is suitable for making either yardage or metric skeins. A Motorised Twist Tester is used to find out the accurate twist of all yarns except gummed silk yarn. It is operating under the principle of single untwist – twist method (twist contraction) for testing single yarns. Untwist only method for testing plied (and double) yarns. Triple untwist – twist method for opened yarns.

Paramount Twist Tester i9™ (Motorised, Multi Yarn) is a Next Generation software driven Equipment. It consists of a fixed base on which the main scale is provided to set the length of the specimen yarn. A panel board is mounted on the right-hand side of the base to control and perform all operations of the instrument. On the left-hand side of the base, the tensioning device is provided to hold the yarn. This tensioning device is mounted on a moving carriage having stationery yarn gripper Jaw, elongation scale, tension (elongation relief) stoppers and a tension weight pan. The moving carriage can be adjusted up to 20 inches/50cms to set the length of the specimen yarn. A Carriage knob is provided on the moving carriage to lock it at any required gauge length. The rotating jaw (gripper) is mounted on left hand side of the control unit which is directly coupled with a high procession DC motor. A spring-loaded jaw is provided in the rotating jaw to hold the specimen yarn. A knurled rotary knob is fixed with the rotating jaw for manual rotation. A Fine speed controller is provided to adjust the speed of rotating jaw. A separate yarn bobbin stand is supplied to rest and draw the specimen yarn while testing.
